Have any junk train cars sitting around? This pig pen was made from an old AHM stock car that had seen better days (even for an AHM product). One door was missing & the frame & trucks long gone. It was destined for the trash but then an idea hit. Lots of HO pigs needed a place to live & shelter that were in the animals’ box.
A little weathering using the dot filtering technique described in another post worked wonders. In this case, dots of white, green & dark brown were blended with the results shown in these photos. Pigs from various manufactures also got painted & washed with dark brown. Custom decals added the name.
Next, Celluclay mix was spread on a foam board base & Woodland Scenics grass was added along with ball field dirt. Atlas wood fence & gate keeps the pigs in. The family goat keeps watch.
An easy project with little expense & not very time consuming. It’ll plug right into the layout farm community & more bushes, trees & figures all will help bring it to “life.”
